Description
LIL STEINBERG
“I am a Belgian/Israeli self-taught photographer and started photographing many years ago, following the steps of my father, who was a very good amateur photographer. After shooting portraits and urban abstracts, which I still do, I slowly but surely got the street virus ( since 3 years, actually). Street photography can be practiced all over the world, and the beauty of it is that it can be done spontaneously without the need of many tools, nor the booking of models or a studio!
Actually, you only need a camera, a lens ( or more), good shoes, and a good approach to people. Street photography is actually one of the most difficult genres of photography, as you can not tell your model what to do, nor can you choose the light! You have to think about composition, build up a story, anticipate, look at everything around you, and sometimes wait for hours to have your frame…and on top of it, it is very physical!
I am spending lots of time in the streets of my country and abroad to find those special places..those special faces and expressions that will especially touch me.
A great picture for me is one that touches one’s soul, a picture that will be remembered!”
