Eva Lewarne. Toronto. Canada.
“I have been living in Canada for many years. In the last few of years, I received a Medal from France in a Painting Festival in Avignon. (Grand Prix, which was not my first exhibition there) Also, my art was shown at the Grand Palais in Paris before that, where my work was stolen from an international exhibition, Figuration Critique. I guess the French feel an affinity with my theme and style. Most recently, I showed up there again in November of 2015. Photography is my second passion.
I was born in Poland and have lived half my life here, in Toronto. Both countries have influenced and shaped my art, for better or worse. But, mostly, introverted meditation and silence gave birth to the images in my paintings, telling a story of my inner world.
The world, however, has captured my attention, especially the uncompassionate politics and devastation of our environment. I am happy to be contributing to aid Israel in its quest to overcome the terrorist Hamas, who silently creep into their homes and kill people. Obviously, irrational, extreme religious who want Jewish people from their ancestral homeland and will stop at nothing to obtain their goal can’t be reasoned with. Thus, there is a war.”
