Chelita Zuckermann

Mexican and Italian architect and self-taught artist, born in Mexico City in 1965, graduated in architecture in 1991. From 1991 to 2006, she worked as an architect in Mexico before moving to Italy. Since his architectural studies are not recognized in Europe, she began creating artistic works in 2016 by transforming sheets of aluminum, stainless steel, and Corten steel into sculptures. 

Since 2017, three of her works have been placed in public places and are part of the artistic heritage of Porto Rotondo, Sardinia. As of 2019, two of her sculptures are part of the art collections of two museums, one at the PAPALOTE Museum in Mexico City and the other at the Jewish Museum in Casale Monferrato, Italy. 

Zuckermann has won four first art prizes, in October 2020 at the Biancoscuro Art Contest 2020 Prize, at the 13th Arte Laguna Prize in Venice in the Business for Art category, and two in Palm Springs, U.S.A. Thanks to the polished stainless steel and aluminum she uses, her sculptures reflect natural and artificial light and merge with their surroundings, capturing the surrounding colors as a mirror image.
The lightness of aluminum allows her aluminum sculptures to move in the wind. Chelita wants to bring joy and light with her work. 

2019 EXHIBITED ARTWORK IN TWO MUSEUMS IN ITALY AND MEXICO 

– “Papalotl Butterfly” hangs in the Papalote Museum in Mexico City.
– “Hannukiot” is located in the Museo Dei Lumi at the Jewish Museum of Casale Monferrato, Italy. 

SINCE 2017, SIX OF HIS SCULPTURES HAVE BEEN IN PUBLIC PLACES IN ITALY 

2023 BOLZANO, two of her sculptures are placed at the Palais Campo Franco in Bolzano: PEGASUS BEYOND OBSTACLES and PASSAGE TO PARADISE and THE ANGEL IS YOU! 

2022 ROME, her sculpture AGAVE SPLENDENTE, was placed at the entrance of the Mexican Embassy in Rome, at the request of the Mexican Ambassador Carlos Garcia de Alba Zepeda, to commemorate the Centenary of the Mexican Embassy in Italy. 

PORTO ROTONDO in Sardinia: 

2021, her sculpture ANGEL OF LIGHT was positioned in front of the entrance to the church of Porto Rotondo and is part of the Artistic Heritage of the Porto Rotondo Foundation.  

2017, two AGAVES are part of the Artistic Heritage of the Porto Rotondo Foundation and are property of the Porto Rotondo Consortium: 

– the AMERICAN AGAVE, located in Piazza Cascella.
– the AGAVE RICCIATA located in Via Riccardo Belli.
2017, four sculptures by him are part of the Hrusca Foundation and are located at the Hotel Sporting in Porto Rotondo.
