George Anastasiadis | “Thinking of…”, 2022
Original Art. Watercolors on canvas.
45 x 35 cm. Signed.
“Thoughts and over-analysis… Sad thoughts, as usual. Thinking of… Sad thoughts, as usual…
The contrasts of the brightness of the colors, I think, speak for themselves, the same as my description above… Sad thoughts and, from the side, a little smile… Light and shadows…
Over-analyzing and hypothetical scenarios about things that have yet to happen often (mostly) don’t lead to positive conclusions.”

George Anastasiadis was born in Thessaloniki, Greece, in 1968.
Anastasiadis works as a physical therapist in a public rehabilitation center for the disabled but likes to paint. He is a self-taught painter. His artistic journey started during high school, and he was lucky to have a fantastic art teacher, the beloved Nikos Paralis.
He automatically paints images that originate from the subconscious. Dozens of symbols and messages are hidden in his paintings, and he belongs to the surrealists he admires.
“Painting is a confession. It communicates with the world, a deposit of the artist’s soul. He hides “a little piece of the soul” in his paintings.”
George Anastasiadis believes everything stagnates, wears out, becomes sloppy, and dies. Everything that surrounds us and inside us is a harmonious and indivisible whole. We are immortal elements and parts of the universe. Nothing absurd or scary. Everything is simple and in our nature, just like art. His paintings come from his inner will to find and improve himself through his philosophical, rational, and metaphysical quests. His goal is to consistently evolve into a better version of himself.
He has taken part in many exhibitions in Greece and abroad, and his works have been awarded many times.
